Tis the season! Tonight we got our first Christmas tree together as a couple, how exciting! It was also the first Christmas tree I've ever gotten in France, which was a pretty different experience than getting one back in the States.
Firstly, the trees aren't available for sale until the first week of December. As someone who starts playing Christmas music in November this frustrated me a bit. Which is why when December rolled around the first thing I made Armand do is come with me to buy our tree. We walked up the road to the Monoprix where all the trees are in stalls outside and chose a smallish
medium sized one. It was much cheaper than trees in the states, as it was only 30€ and I remember paying over 70$ for the same size tree back in Miami. Next comes my favorite part of the whole process, we had to carry our tree home! Well, Armand carried it and I just followed behind but I still found the whole thing so exciting compared to in the States just driving it home. Walking made it so much more exciting, it was a cold night and the Christmas lights were up on our street. The scene felt just like a Hallmark movie.
Since Armand carried the tree, I decorated once we got home and then he finished it with the star on top. The house was filled with Christmas music and the smell of evergreen. Picture perfect evening for our first Christmas tree in Paris. xx
