Right Place, Right Time

This week I had the opportunity to go to the Louis Vuitton Spring Collection Paris Fashion Week show's red carpet. It was the first time since I've been in Paris that I knew when/where the show was and didn't have any other place I needed to be. So I grabbed my camera and braved the freezing cold to attempt my first shot at street style fashion photography.

I got to the event two hours early and wasn't really sure where I was supposed to stand. I saw the paparazzi lined up against a barrier so I decided to do the same and managed to get a front row spot right across from them. I didn't realize at the time that where I was standing was more with fans than photographers but it still panned out and I actually think it worked to my advantage for some shots. When the celebrities started to arrive the energy was electric and everyone was shouting. The more comfortable I became the more I found myself shouting to the celebrities for "one more look." It was quite a different experience and a little out of my comfort zone but nonetheless a great one. I look forward to shooting more shows and hopefully one day I'll be able to photograph the show itself. xx
