I am in love with the libraries here in Paris, especially the INHA. This library just feels magical when you go inside and are surrounded by millions of books. And yes so far, they have had every single book I've needed for my thesis so I am ecstatic that they have finally reopened again.
Nothing compares to being able to sit at a desk in the library and just work uninterrupted for several hours, of course only when I'm talking about times that you have to get work done!
My thesis is coming along quite well, the more and more I research it the more I am excited about my topic, which is definitely a good sign. And I actually find myself enjoying the readings, even though they're sometimes long I find it truly fascinating. Especially Susan Sontag's On Photography, I love the way she writes so poetic yet cuts to the point. Even more, I can't believe she touches upon society's obsession with things only existing to be photographed, and this was back in the 1970s! I would be fascinated to hear her thoughts today if she were still alive, especially because of how much more the world has become engrossed with images due to social media's rise. But ah, c'est la vie! I guess I will just have to settle with reading her thoughts in this magical place...
